Family

This is my friend Meredith. I joke that she is the color of my life, since my go-to wardrobe usually consists of something in the gray family. Not only is she a great friend but she is also an amazing Mom to her beautiful daughter Lila. She has these super-hero powers in whipping up the coolest wardrobe and handmade accessories for Lila, who is always dressed to the 9's. Needless to say, I love this creative momma dearly and when I found out that they were expecting their 2nd daughter I was BEYOND excited for them! It is so appropriate that they are blessed with another shining star and even cooler that she has a name that refelects it. I was so happy to head over to their house on a weekday to meet baby Stella for the first time...

I couldn't get enough of this snippet from a family session I had earlier this month and had to share. We didn't go far but we went ages back in time to the family's vacation house that is being sold soon. It just took me back to a time and place where generations of family members were together and sharing a space for the summer and even though I wasn't there with them I could feel it when we arrived and walked around the property. I know I've been posting more previews than anything else this month but tis the season for nice weather and lots of photoshoots. The love is there and there is more to come.

I've been so torn about what to write for this post. I don't know if it is because I know the pictures will speak for themselves or because it is just beyond special and I don't want to taint it with words. This opportunity came together in a very organic special way and I finally decided that I wanted to include the process. One, because my clients were very happy to have their story shared and two, because I am VERY honored and humbled that they let me document this part in their lives.

After two years of intensive IVF and then finally conceiving with a donor, my clients contacted me because they wanted this journey to be documented so that one day they would be able to share it and talk about it with their beautiful daughter.
